Day Number 19
Today I am very thankful for my wonderful hubby. Well, I am always thankful for him, but after a particularly rough day I was a little more happy to see him walk through the door than just any other day!
Some days there is absolutely nothing better than him hugging me as soon as he gets home! I <3 him.
Thanks for visiting!

Day Number 18
Superbowl Sunday! What an exciting day for most people. Me? I could care less about the game it's self. For me Super Bowl Sunday is a time of good food and fellowship with good friends! A friend of mine is on a dairy free diet. So I wanted to be creative and come up with something snacky that she would be able to enjoy along with everyone else! I ended up with two dishes for her. A dessert which is the photo of the day and a chicken dish. Both went over well with all others there!
Today's Photo is of my mini cake. Entirely dairy free.
Doesn't it look tasty? Yeah, it was awesome! Thanks for visiting!
I am posting the picture of the stuffed chicken on my Fan Page.

Day Number 17
Today is one of those days when I don't want to do a thing. I suppose for most people that goes along with being a Saturday. But here is today's Photo. This is our little Snow Mama that we made yesterday. Complete with Snow Baby. Aren't they cute!?
I think I like it better than last year's snowman.
But I'm not sure. Last year's snowman is pretty Epic with that Dublin Dr. Pepper in his hands!

Day Number 15
Today was so laid back and relaxed that we stayed in our jammies all day long. I did manage to snag my almost 2 year old in her comfy warm footed P.J.s. I do need to remember to get her hair out of her face before taking the picture though! It makes seeing her eyes difficult! Isn't she cute!?
I cannot express how much Joy my kids bring into my life.

Day Number 14
Two weeks! I can't believe it! only 50 weeks left. Ha! I say only but it's such a long time!
We, my kids and I, spent the day trapped in our house. Ok well, perhaps "trapped" isn't the right word. It was 16 degrees outside and windy! Our front yard and sidewalks are basically a solid block of ice. I don't even know what the roads are like, but my husband tells me they aren't much different. It amazes me that Texas doesn't know how to handle weather like this!
Our electricity shut off every hour for about 15 minutes. ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas)
Decided that they needed to start rolling blackouts throughout Texas to prevent too much strain on our power grids. Which would apparently result in a statewide blackout. Now that we have gone about 3 hours without a mini black out (at my house) they are talking about restarting them through tonight and tomorrow. What takes the cake for me is that the Dallas Convention Center, which is the site of the NFL Experience, and City Hall, which is the location of the Emergency Operations Center for Super Bowl week. AND All of the Super Bowl venues are exempt from blackouts because they consider the game to be a top security risk. I mean seriously?! Forget the Texas citizens. Who care's if they are without power for 15 minutes-2 hours at a time. We need to make sure the Football events go off without a hitch. Gotta LOVE the government priorities!
I dunno Perhaps my view is wrong here but I don't like it at all.
Now that I am off my soapbox, the kids and I spent the day huddled up in bed under layers of heavy blankets watching cartoons for the entirety of the morning. Once the baby went down for her nap we moved to the much chillier living room and sipped on hot chocolate (and coffee for me) and munched on popcorn while playing a game of Monopoly. We had so much fun. It's nice every once in a while to be with out the electronic distractions. It's a lot easier to spend good quality time together. Those moments always make the best memories!

Like his funky hat? He insisted me MUST wear it because it's warm, and yet his shirt is.... yeah
Who goes first? "YOUNGEST TO OLDEST!"
Yeah, I put marshmallows in my Coffee and it was YUMMY!
I think this is the longest span of days that Texas has ever called off school for more than one day. Tuesday, Wednesday, and tomorrow the kids will have been home. There is talk about more snow coming in Friday. We already have cabin fever!
Thanks for visiting!

Day Number 13
We woke up this morning to a "winter wonderland". Well, what is commonly known in Texas as a "winter wonderland". Someone who lives in a state where large fluffy snowflakes in mass amounts are common would call it a dusting. People laugh at me because I see occasional large fluffy flakes falling and I get all excited over the "Yankee flakes". Its easier to say than "large fluffy flakes like the ones that fall up north.". It's sad to say that when we went to bed last night, around midnight, it was 50 degrees. The cool front came in around 4:15 this morning. The spectacular sounds of crashing thunder woke me to announce it's arrival.
So when we woke this morning to a beautiful white spread covering the grass, of course we were excited. Although, the children were very disappointed with the solid state of this beautiful white covering. Instead of bundling up and building snowmen like we had wanted to we bundled up and "skated" and played hockey with small blocks of ice along the iced over sidewalks. We had a lot of fun! So needless to say today's pictures are multiple!
I wish this one were not so blurry. I love it anyway!
I had some of my son also, but they all came out blurry. I blame the broken camera lens that I am soon replacing.
Thanks for looking!!!
